Why do the tamales need to rest after steaming?
Sweet tamales are still soft straight out of the steamer — letting them rest about 15 minutes off the heat lets the masa firm up as it cools slightly, so they hold together and release cleanly from the husk.

Soak the husks
Soak the husks in hot water for 45 minutes.
